Disney has undoubtedly been on fire to become the first Hollywood company to have five films (Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, Aladdin, The Lion King and Toy Story 4) released this year and now with the recent release of Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil.
Maleficent 2014 opened with $69 million and legged it to $241.41 million domestic and $758 million worldwide on a $180 million budget, made the Global Box Office hit, was directed by Robert Stromberg and had its lead character, Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.
Fun fact, in Maleficent 2014, Angelia Jolie baby girl was part of the cast, and like her mother she played her role to the script;

After the release of the first film, Jolie stated that a sequel was possible and boom!!! She was signed on in April 2016.
The 2019 American dark fantasy adventure film was released October 18 in the United States and has already grossed $153 million worldwide, but they will need a big oversee assist to justify the $185 million budget.
Directed by Joachim Ronning and written by Linda Woolverton, Micah Fitzerman-Blue, and Noah Harpster.
The old cast, starring: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville while Harris Dickinson replacing Brenton Thwaites and our newbies: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The review aggregation website, Rotten tomatoes rates the film 41% based on 178 reviews and a critics consensus which says “While it’s far from cursed, Maleficent: Mistress of evil too rarely supports its impressive cast and visuals with enough magical storytelling to justify its existence.” Here’s what other critics had this to say about the film;
#Maleficient2 is full of beautiful folklore but somehow Disney doesn’t tie all this mythos together in what could be a stunning tapestry, not even the iconic Pfeiffer or Jolie can hold my attention. Great art direction for a plot that doesn’t quite know where it’s at #Maleficent

Review: #Maleficient2. I’m not sure that it’s good, however it does entertain and is an improvement over the first one. The whole genocide theme is a bit unsettling, but I guess it does teach the little ones that wiping out an entire population due to blind hatred is a shit idea. pic.twitter.com/9ZnGkyU3aR

Audience poll by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of “A”, while those at PostTrak gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and a strong 96% average among moviegoers on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film goes on to introduce Maleficent and her goddaughter, Aurora. Their relationship is one born out of heartbreak, revenge and ultimate love which flourished over the years, but the hatred between man and the fairies still refuse to end.
Aurora eventually falls in love with Prince Phillip and the marriage between the two of them hopes to unite the two worlds; the Kingdom of Ulstead and the Neighbouring Moors.
Maleficent then comes across a conniving queen whose plan is to destroy the land’s fairies. In her quest to stop her, she joins forces with a seasoned warrior and a group of outcasts to battle the queen and her powerful army.
Maleficent and her goddaughter begin to question their complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by imminent marriage, unexpected allies and new dark forces at play.
These two were eventually pulled apart to opposing sides in a great war to test their loyalties. Can they truly be family and overcome all obstacles?…
