Top 5 things people have been doing in this lockdown

Numerous countries worldwide have been on an indefinite lockdown since the virus outbreak. This strict directive is a measure to encourage social distancing, and personal hygiene to curb the spread of this deadly virus.

Despite the long and seemingly unending hostility, there are some who have made new discoveries of how to ‘unbore’. Social media as a vantage point, has been buzzing lately with different activities to keep one entertained during this lockdown. The sensation from social media is one that exhausts your mobile data and have you regretting but you still renew it anyways and the cycle repeat itself.

However, we also have another group who have rather seized the opportunity in learning a new skill while the lockdown lasts.

In this article, we’ll highlight the top 5 things people been up to in this lockdown and it’s pretty certain you’d fall in at least one category

Social media challenges

From the very popular ones like the #DontRushChallenge, #BopDaddyChallenge, #StayAtHomeChallenge and many others, social media challenges have been the predominant rave of engagement for so many. One I find very fascinating and hilarious is #NakedChallenge.

TikTok recently announced a huge increase in its download since the lockdown started. This is not far fetched from the rate at which users have been engaging with the app and using it to creatively generate unique videos.

The interesting part about these challenges is whilst helping the world connect better, it has been a source of awareness in the fight against this pandemic. Through these challenges, people have been encouraged to stay home seeing others participate from home as well.

Exploring new and old movies

Money Heist released it’s 4th season series on Friday, 3rd of April. What better time to release a movie than during a period where a larger percent of the world are less engaged. However, upon its release, the popular Spanish series spiked a great conversation on social media. The conversations were so disruptive to the point where the curiosity of non-followers were enchanted by the praises of the ‘following’ cult.

However, there are two other movies that have literally been the ‘talk of the town’. Although these movies were early releases, they have substantially stirred a major talking point among movie lovers. First is a 2019 Philippine drama film directed by Nuel Crisostomo Naval, ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7‘, and second is a Tyler Perry January release, ‘A Fall From Grace‘.

Meanwhile, for those whose preference is high school/teenager series, movie enthusiast, TheRealIbk, recently shared series you can binge on Netflix. You might want to check that out.

Pornography

While others consider other options as a point of entertainment, there are others who have been keeping themselves busy with adult entertainment platforms..

A couple of days back, we reported that popular adult entertainment site, Pornhub, released a report they titled ‘Coronavirus insight’. They revealed how the global epidemic has greatly increased their website’s traffic.

Perhaps you’re considering other options, I’d have shared more insights but most of you already know what to do and where to go.

E-learning

Several e-learning platforms have increased their awareness and are sensitizing people to engage in a course or two during this lockdown. Popular platforms such as Udemy, Academia, Coursera and many more have been putting some free courses to help you increase your knowledge broadband.

This is a great time for you to try out that online course you have been dying to offer or complete the ones you already started.

Sleep, Wake and Eat ‘Geng’

This is by far the best and my favorite activity. It is by far the most stressless activity when compared with other activities. It doesn’t require so much resources to execute or implement. You don’t need a smartphone, internet or any core digital approach to achieve this.

More specifically, if you’re a junk person like me, that means less cooking and opt for cereals or processed food. Or better still, you can dedicate a day to cook as much as you can and freeze up so you can warm it up anytime.
