Shatta Wale earns his first ever Grammy credit

A huge one for the Ghanaian-born producer and dancehall recording artist, Shatta Wale. The Ghanian star earned his first-ever Grammy credit for the 2020 edition in the recently released nomination.

The 35-year-old singer’s feature on Beyoncé’s acclaimed “The Lion King: The Gift” album landed his name on The Recording Academy’s nomination list which was released Wednesday, November 20.

Shatta Wale’s effort on the song ‘Already’ alongside the Jamaican-American electronic dance music trio, Major Lazer, was a major tune across Africa upon its release song in July.

Some other major names in the African music industry collaborated with Beyonce on the album; Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Mr. Eazi and the likes. The album was also nominated in the “Best Pop Album” category.
