How Nigerians have reacted to the news of the released names of alleged fraudsters

Following the arrest of 80 people who participated in a conspiracy to steal millions of dollars through a range of fraud schemes and laundering the funds through a Los Angeles-based network by the FBI, Nigerians across the world have expressed their disappointment at this particularly with the way Nigeria’s reputation has been heavily stained by this preposterous occurrence.

According to the list released by the FBI, it was observed that more than 80% of the released names were dominated by Nigerian citizens from the Igbo tribe. However, there have been a lot of cross-reactions and several confrontations following the release of the 80 alleged fraudsters as some social media users appeared to be tagging the Igbo tribe with fraudulent activities. There were also others concerned with how this plight will hinder foreign activities ranging from travelling to foreign countries, working with foreign investors and many more.
