Paramount Pictures has released another sequel of the Terminator franchise, making it the sixth installation of the film.
Dark Fate has actually been conceived as a direct sequel to the hugely successful first two films: The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day which means the new Terminator pretty much ignores all other Terminator movies as it exist in alternate timelines. It reunites stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton after 28 years, returning in their roles as Sarah Connor and the T-800 “Terminator” including Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, and Gabriel Luna as new characters.
James Cameron, who created the series in 1984, returned as a producer for the first time since “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” released in 1991. Directed by Tin Miller, written by David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes and Billy Ray, produced by Paramount Pictures and released November 1 in the United States.
On Rotten Tomatoes it has an audience score of 85% and a Tomatometer of 70%. The Critics consensus said “Terminator: Dark Fate represents a significant upgrade over its immediate predecessors, even if it lacks the thrilling firepower of the franchise’s best installments”.
Users on twitter criticized it by tweeting:
Terminator: Dark Fate was one of the ‘wokest’ movies of recent times.
All female leads, sympathetic portrayal of illegal immigration, progressive themes.
In the US, it pulled in just a $29M opening.
Its flop will leave studios $100 million in the hole.
Get woke, go broke.

Terminator Dark Fate predictably dreadful by the way. The excuse to bring back Arnie this time is so absurd that I was actually laughing out loud at its nonsense implications.

The film takes place two decades after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment day altered the future and re-wrote the fate of the human race. A new highly advanced and deadly terminator, a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) travels back through time to hunt and kill Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) who lives a simple life in Mexico City with her father and brother (Diego Boneta).
Dani’s survival now depends on her joining forces with two warriors: A battle- hardened Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and Grace (Mackenzie Davis), a modify super-soldier from the future. The three are led to a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from Sarah’s past that may be their last hope when Rev-9 ruthlessly destroys everything and everyone in its path on the hunt for Dani.
I had already forgotten about the film terminator but seeing there’s another reminded me of the old days. Ending the film with Dark Fate won’t be a bad way to end the franchise. Do you want the terminator franchise to continue? Watch the movie and tell me what you think by dropping your comment in the comment box. It is also an R rated film so parents be advised in taking your kids to watch this movie as it depicts nudity, brutal killings, violence and foul language.
