Davido Reacts As Cardi B Takes On A Nigerian Name ‘Chioma B’

Popular American rapper, Belcalis Almanzar, better known as Cardi B, who is currently in Nigeria to perform at the Live spot X Festival has finally given herself an Igbo Nigerian name.

The rapper whose arrival in Nigeria has gained so much attention, in a recent post stated that she wants to have a taste of the Nigerian jollof rice. In another post, the global star gave herself a Nigerian name in honour of her visit to the country. She named herself Chioma B.

The Love and Hip Hop reality star took to her Instagram story to share a video of herself vibing to Burnaboy’s song, “Ye” with the caption, Chioma B.

It was earlier revealed by multiple sources that the rap star, who is lodged at Eko hotel and suites, shared a post stating that she would like to visit the Ghetto places in Lagos so she could meet her Nigerian fans as well as eat the popular local dish, Jollof rice, and fish.

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, whose girlfriend and wife-to-be bears the name Chioma, reacted to the rapper’s new name just after she disclosed it.

The singer took to his Instagram story a picture of Cardi B with his wife-to-be tagged on it and said we have a problem, adding some laughing emojis to the post.

The rapper, In an interview with radio personalities N6, Taymi and singer Dare Art Alade, described Nigerians as great entertainers while she praised self-acclaimed African Giant and labelmate, Burna Boy for his raw talent. The rapper also revealed Burna Boy’s 2018 single ‘Ye’ as one of her favorite songs.

In her words;

“I was telling the heads of Atlantic that that song (Ye) is huge, it’s amazing.” She also spoke on her collaboration with fall crooner, Davido. She revealed: “We did it (Fall) like a while ago and my label was like giving me a hard time, we had a very big argument cos we really wanted that to come out but…” Speaking on what she likes about Nigeria, the mother of one likened Lagos to New York saying: “There are so many people and it’s like New York!”

The American rapper who now has a Nigerian name, further revealed that Taymi B helped her pick a Yoruba name for her daughter, Kulture. She said the new name was based on the circumstances surrounding the birth of the little girl which Cardi B revealed to be happiness. The radio personality and Dare Art Alade later translate that to Ayomide.
