The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announces 648 new cases of coronavirus in the country.
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, the total number of coronavirus cases rises to 42,689 in 14 states. Abuja records the highest number with 96 confirmed cases.
Lagos state is following closely with 89 cases, 68 cases in Plateau, 49 cases in Ogun, 44 cases in Edo, while Rivers state record 43 cases.
NCDC records 25 cases in Oyo, 23 new cases in Osun, 15 cases in Delta, while Enugu records 11 cases.
Kano and Kaduna record seven cases each, Bauchi records two cases, while Bayelsa and Yobe record ONE case of the deadly virus.

The death numbers have gotten to 878 as of July 30, 2020. Since the inception of its first case in February, 19,270 patients have been discharged. As of July 26, 2020, a total of 266,323 samples have been tested in Nigeria.
Lagos state still remains the major center of the pandemic having a total of 15,043 confirmed cases with over a total of 2,087 recovery cases.
FCT has the second lead with 3,710 cases while Oyo state has 2,713 confirmed cases, taking the third lead.
Edo state takes fourth place with 2,285 cases while Rivers state is following closely with 1,782 confirmed cases.
