Nigeria recorded 229 new cases of the coronavirus in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on Monday, May 25, 2020.
Nigeria has now recorded a total of 8,068 coronavirus cases in 34 states and the FCT since its outbreak.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made the announcement late on Monday, stating that 90 new cases were recorded in Lagos, the epicenter of the deadly virus.

Katsina was second in command on Monday, recording 27 new cases, 26 new cases in Imo and 23 new cases in Kano.
Also, 14 new cases were recorded in the FCT, while 12 were recorded in Plateau, nine in Ogun, seven in Delta, and five each in Borno and Rivers.
Oyo recorded four new cases, Gombe recorded three, 2 cases in Osun, and one each in Anambra and Bayelsa.
According to the reports, seven patients died from the coronavirus, making a total of 233 coronavirus related deaths.
48 patients fully recovered and discharged from their isolation centers on Monday. A total of 2,311 patients have recovered and been discharged.
