Beyonce have also used her platform to solicit for funds in support of the movement to end police brutality in Nigeria.

It’s quite amazing how beautiful and vibrant youths in Nigeria and the world at large have in the past two weeks taken to the street to protest the unjust killing, brutality and extortion by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a dreaded and controversial unit of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) that has been scrapped.

However, the protests keeps growing as it is obvious the youths are fighting for a total reform of the Nigerian police and Beyoncé has now shown support for the movement.

According to her, she is heartbroken to see the senseless brutality in Nigeria.

“There has to be an end to SARS.

We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter,” she said. “To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand with you.”

The 24 times Grammy Award winner said opened up about working with some youth organisations to support those protesting.
